３才より、父や当教室の指導者より音楽の基礎教育を受け、５才の時にヤマハ本部の専門コースオーディションに最年少合格、ピアノ、作曲等を学ぶ。
桐朋女子中学・高校在学中に、ピアノを金子薫、山田富士子、音楽理論、ソルフェージュ・和声法を町田育弥の各氏に師事。
東京芸術大学音楽学部楽理科に進んで、西洋・東洋音楽史、音楽美学、民族音楽学などを幅広く学び、ピアノを浜口奈々氏に師事、在学中より声楽や器楽の伴奏の他バレエやミュージカルなど舞踏・演劇・ポップスの分野でもピアノ演奏や歌の指導、音楽監督の助手など数多く務めている。
From the age of 3, I received basic music education from my father and the instructor of this school, and at the age of 5,I passed the special course audition of Yamaha Headquarters as the youngest, and learned piano, composition, etc.
While attending Toho Girls' Junior and Senior High School,I studied piano under Kaoru Kaneko and Fujiko Yamada, music theory, solfeggio and harmony method under Ikuya Machida.
I studied music history, music aesthetics, and ethnomusicology at Tokyo University of the Arts. In the field of theater and pop music, I have also worked as a piano player, singing instructor, and assistant to the music director.

1962年（昭和37年）大学(中央大学法学部)に入学後、ギターを阿部英先生、小原安正先生（YMCA教室）に学ぶ。兄弟子に今野有二、山口昭三氏ら。大学3年の時、学友と中央大学古典ギタークラブを設立、設立当初のメンバーに1986年(昭和61年)に『カディスの赤い星』で直木賞を受賞した逢坂剛君、現在も弾き語りを中心に活躍している吉田峯男君などがいる。卒業後 は2000年（平成12年）まで同OB会会長を務める。
教授歴
1967年（昭和42年)より日本楽器（現ヤマハ）管弦打楽器科ギター講師として指導を始め、2014年（平成26年）まで指導に当たる。講師仲間に小胎剛、津田昭治、細田武士、
松本浩、橋爪晋平氏ら。またヤマハウクレレ科がスタートした当初よりハーブ・オータさんの主唱する奏法を学びヤマハウクレレ科の講師としても指導にあたる。
地域での活動
1969年（昭和44年) ヤマハの講師として面識を得た派遣先の島村楽器社長の島村元紹氏のご助力により現在地にてまつばら音楽教室を開設、地元を中心に演奏活動を展開。
地域福祉活動
1989年（平成元年）より民生委員児童委員として2022年（令和4年）まで32年間、地域福祉活動に参加、草加市民生児童委員協議会会長、草加市社会福祉協議会副会長等を務める。2021年（令和3年）藍綬褒章の推挙受ける。
1962 after entering university (Faculty of Law, Chuo University), I studied
guitar in the YMCA classroom of Professor Yasumasa Obara after working
with Professor Ei Abe. Yuji Konno and Shozo Yamaguchi are among my senior
pupils.
When I was in my third year at university, I established the Chuo University Classical Guitar Club with my guitar friends. One of the founding members was Gou Osaka, who won the Naoki Prize in 1986 for "Akai Hoshi of Cadiz". And Mineo Yoshida who is also famous singer-song writer.
From 1967 to 2014, I worked as a guitar instructor at the YAMAHA with Tuyoshi Otai ,Syouji Tsuda,Takesi Hosoda,Hirosi Matsumoto,Sinpei Hasizume. And since the beginning of the YAMAHA Ukulele Course, I learned the playing technique advocated by Herb Ota and has been teaching as a YAMAHA Ukulele Course instructor.
In 1969, with the help of Mr. Mototsugu Shimamura, ( the president of Shimamura Musical Instruments) I established the Matsubara Music Class at this current location in 1969.
From 1989.I participated in local welfare activities as a civil welfare committee & children's committee until 2022 , serving as chairman of the Soka Citizens' Children's Committee and vice chairman of the Soka City Social Welfare Council.
